Why Boston should hand him the keys

Payton Pritchard just earned Sixth Man of the Year after career highs of 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He’s started only 17 times in 347 regular season games, but with Jayson Tatum sidelined, the Celtics may need him in a bigger role.

Boston could start Anfernee Simons, but Pritchard’s defense and shooting give him the edge. Some even believe he could grow into an All-Star — or at least the basketball version of finding twenty bucks in an old pair of jeans: unexpectedly valuable and instantly exciting.
