Boston bets on growth, not excuses

The Celtics reshaped their roster this offseason, trading Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday to cut their luxury tax from $500M to about $274M. Brad Stevens added Anfernee Simons, Chris Boucher, Josh Minott, Luka Garza, and prospects while keeping Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard.

With Jayson Tatum recovering, Simons is set for a starring role. Joe Mazzulla insists the winning standard remains unchanged. The only real shift? Boston fans may now need flashcards to remember all the new names faster than opposing defenses do.
