The Celtics Shuffle Their Schedule for Next Season…

For the first time since 2015, the Celtics will be making eggnog while other teams hit the court on Christmas Day. ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed the ten teams spreading holiday cheer elsewhere. Last Christmas, the Celtics narrowly lost to the 76ers by a whisker so thin, it might have been Santa’s! Typically, teams chosen to play during sleigh-ride season are the top contenders, but the Celtics’ lineup is turning over faster than pancakes at a busy diner. With big changes, including Jayson Tatum sidelined and key players like Jrue Holiday temporarily retiring to join the elves in Portland, rumors are they might not be the jingle-bell rockstars this year. Yet, not sweating on Christmas doesn’t spell disaster; the Thunder and Pacers didn’t play last year but waltzed into the NBA Finals like they owned the place!

The Celtics are also skipping Opening Night despite last year’s grand entrance against the Knicks with a win that had fans so pumped they could’ve powered New York for a week! Shams Charania slipped in the juicy news about which four squads will stand at the starting line for the NBA season on October 21st, but alas, the Celtics are not one of them. They’re evidently saving their drama for later with a script that’s yet to be penned. As they sip their hot cocoa, the Celtics might just plot an epic comeback that’ll have fans jumping higher than the Times Square ball on New Year’s Eve!
