Celtics Add RJ Luis, Bid Farewell to Norris…

The Boston Celtics have decided to say “adios” to two-way forward Miles Norris, waiving him on Sunday like a magician making a rabbit disappear from a hat. Norris, who recently celebrated his 25th trip around the sun, was ready to dive into a second season with Boston. But, as in all magical tales, there was a plot twist: the Celtics acquired rookie RJ Luis from the Utah Jazz this week, making poor Miles’ continuation on the team about as probable as a penguin breakdancing. With RJ Luis already on a two-way contract from his Jazz days, the writing was on the wall for Miles.

Norris was a powerhouse for the Maine Celtics, posting 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds last season, and even graced the Celtics’ regular-season court thrice. However, his Summer League stats were dimmer than a basement light bulb at 9.3 points on 36.8% shooting. The Celtics are now vying with Max Shulga, RJ Luis, and presumably rookie Amari Williams as the candidates for the three two-way slots, though Williams is still playing hide-and-seek with the official signing contract. Max Shulga, fresh from a successful VCU stint, and RJ Luis, a St. John’s star are ready to jazz things up in Boston!
